The Seven Oaks School Division has been very progressive in terms of incorporating growing food into their programs and spaces. They built a beautiful circle garden in their maintenance yard (we can not take credit for it) and incorporate the garden into their Wayfinders youth program. They do a lot themselves, but also need help with some planting and maintenance, so that’s how we fit in. We also mentored them in creating some raised beds in front of their main location, as well as a wonderful parking lot potato patch in the parking lot near them (Value Village). Seven Oaks School Division even invested in a biovator for composting some of their organic matter. We were lucky to help fill it up one winter with our neighbour, Compost Winnipeg.
